Sarah Bouchie will become its president and CEO on January 1, based in Harare, Zimbabwe. Most recently she was senior vice president and chief impact officer at the LEGO Foundation.
She will follow Kathy Spahn, who is departing after 19 years at the helm of this group that works to strengthen health, nutrition, and vision for children and families.
Joyce Foundation
Ed Miller will be its next vice president of programs.
He joined the $1.2 billion foundation in 2009 and most recently was its environment program director.

Steven McCullough, chief operating and equity officer at Communities in Schools, has been hired as chief operating officer at the anti-hunger and poverty organization.
Thomas Jefferson Foundation
Jane Kamensky will be the next president of the nonprofit group that owns and operates Monticello, the historic home and museum in Virginia. She will start on January 15.
Kamensky is a professor of American history at Harvard University, where she also serves as director of the Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America at Harvard Radcliffe Institute.

Richard Burns has stepped in as interim executive director of GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders. He was a founding member and first president of the organization’s Board of Directors from 1978 until 1986, and served as interim executive director of the Johnson Family Foundation until earlier this year.
Laura Hameed, executive director of the Columbus Children’s Foundation, has been hired as executive director of CureDuchenne, which raises money for research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy. In addition, Kristen Morris has joined the organization as vice president of medical affairs and community engagement. Until April, she was executive director of global medical affairs at BioMarin Pharmaceutical.
Roberta Pereira, executive director of the Playwrights Realm, has been hired as executive director of the New York Public Library’s Library for the Performing Arts. She will begin her new role in January.
Other Notable Appointments
Amy Eaton, associate vice president, development director, and director of foundation and corporate relations at the University of Portland, has been tapped as vice president for university advancement at Pacific University Oregon.
Lesley Martinez Graham has been named vice president of programs at Action for Healthy Kids. Most recently she was managing director for program design at Save the Children.
Paul Leider, a technology consultant, has been hired as chief financial officer at Washington Performing Arts.
Kathleen Smith has been appointed senior vice president for federal-government relations at the Strada Education Foundation. Previously she was senior vice president and director of federal relations, outreach, and development for the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency.
Tory Verkamp, interim vice chancellor for university advancement at Missouri University of Science and Technology since February 2022, will remain in the post permanently.
Marc Vogl will join the National Gallery of Art as its first chief strategy and planning officer early next year. He was previously a visiting assistant professor of practice at Brown University’s Center for Public Humanities.
Precious Waldron-López, executive director of the Providence Student Union, has joined the Schott Foundation for Public Education as regional program officer for the Northeast.
Janson Wu, executive director of GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders, has become senior director of state advocacy and government affairs at the Trevor Project.
