$300-Million Pledged for National Parks

Private donors, prodded by the National Park Service, are promising to provide more than $300-million for park improvements if Congress allots matching money, The Fresno Bee reports.
A spending bill for the national parks is awaiting approval in the Senate Appropriations Committee.
More than 300 corporations, nonprofit groups, and visitors’ groups have made pledges to give private support if Congress agrees to provide matching money.
