Anonymous Donor Gives Spelman College $17-Million

August 27, 2008

An anonymous donor has given $17-million to Spelman College, in Atlanta, reports MarketWatch.com.

The money will be used to establish the Gordon-Zeto Endowed Fund for International Initiatives. The fund is named for Nora A. Gordon, an 1888 graduate of the college who was its first former student to teach in the Congo, and Flora E. Zeto, a 1915 graduate of Spelman who was one of the first Congolese to study and graduate from college.
