Booster Club Leader Raises Big Money for College Athletics

Bobby Purcell, executive director of North Carolina State University’s booster club, has built one of the most successful fund-raising operations in college sports history, raising more than $200-million in donations for the school’s athletics since he took over in 1997, reports The Wall Street Journal.
With more than 20,000 donors in his club, this year he raised $27-million in donations.
