Boston Red Sox Donate Ambulance to Slugger’s Hometown

A Massachusetts ambulance is headed to a needy hospital in the Dominican Republic hometown of the baseball player David Ortiz, thanks to a donation from his team, the Boston Red Sox, reports The Berkshire Eagle.
The charitable foundation for the Red Sox paid $20,000 for a used ambulance from the town of Lenox, Mass., and will equip it with medical supplies before it is sent to Haina, a rural town on the island nation.
