Bread for the World
Eugene Cho, founder and executive director of One Day’s Wages, will become president on July 1. He will succeed David Beckmann, who has led the group since 1991.
Nonprofit Finance Fund
Kristina Dixon, director of finance at the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, has joined the fund as chief financial officer and managing director of finance and administration.
Save the Children U.S.
Greg Ferrante will become chief financial officer next month. Currently he is program chief financial officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
In addition, Eric Howell, chief financial officer at Chemonics International, has joined the humanitarian organization as chief operating officer.
More New CEOs
Sue Adler, interim executive director of the Historic Savannah Foundation, will continue on permanently as president and CEO. She succeeds Daniel Carey, who left in September.
Dennis Moore, CEO and president of Numerator, has been named president of RKD Group, a Dallas company that provides fundraising and marketing services for nonprofit groups.
Gretchen Shugart has been named executive director of Theatre Forward, an arts charity that supports a network of 19 regional theaters. She created TheaterMania.com, Inc., a media and technology company that she sold in 2017, and has also served as a board member at Theatre Forward for more than a decade. Shugart follows Bruce Whitacre, who is stepping down after 18 years.
Susan Styf, chief operating officer at CARE of Southeastern Michigan, will become president and CEO on July 1. She will replace Monique Stanton, who is departing after 8 years as CEO.
California Institute of the Arts
João Ribas, director of the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, in Portugal, has been named executive director of the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater and vice president for cultural partnerships, effective June 1.
In addition, Meredith Robbins has been promoted from vice president for development to senior vice president of advancement.
Saint Paul and Minnesota Foundation
Melanie Hoffert has been promoted from associate vice president of marketing and communications to chief marketing officer.
Also, Nadege Souvenir is now senior vice president of operations and learning. She will continue leading the departments of grants administration, human resources, and IT at the foundation.
Other Notable Appointments
Makeba Butler and Lisa Taylor will now serve as co-directors of the Veterans Business Outreach Center at the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corp. Butler was most recently associate director of veteran programs at the Women’s Business Development Center, in Chicago. Taylor has been interim director of the veterans center, and previously was associate director.
Gabriela Corrales, managing attorney for Tucson at the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project, has been promoted to director of philanthropy.
Sarah Cortell Vandersypen, associate director of strategic engagement at the Louisiana State University Foundation, has been named vice president of advancement and strategy at the Center for Development and Learning. In addition, Michael Willis is now director of public policy. He was most recently a staffer in the office of Rep. Ralph Abraham of Louisiana.
Steve Moore, director of philanthropy in the Mike Ilitch School of Business at Wayne State University, has been named vice president for development and alumni relations at Rochester University.
Josh Stull, congressional and stakeholder affairs officer at the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, has been appointed vice president for policy and analysis at the Supporters of Agricultural Research Foundation.
Departures
Michael Hennessy, who has been CEO of the Coleman Foundation since 1995, intends to retire at the end of the year.
Penelope McPhee, who became president of the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation in 2004, plans to retire at year end.
