Center for Arab American Philanthropy Names New Director; RAND Chooses Next CEO

Center for Arab American Philanthropy
Tamara El-Khoury will be its next director. Most recently, she was director of development at St. Vincent Catholic Charities in Lansing, Mich.
New England Foundation for the Arts
Jug Chokshi, chief operating officer, has stepped in as interim executive director.
He follows Cathy Edwards, who has left after seven years.
RAND Corporation
Jason Matheny will be the next president and CEO of the nonprofit research group, effective July 5. He most recently worked in the White House as deputy assistant to President Joe Biden for technology and national security, deputy director for national security in the Office of Science and Technology Policy, and coordinator for technology and national security at the National Security Council.
He will succeed Michael Rich, who has led the group since 2011.

Jeanna Bamburg, CEO of HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast, has been named CEO of the Woman’s Hospital of Texas.
Cait Brumme, acting CEO at MassChallenge since January, will stay at the helm permanently. She has worked at the entrepreneurship group since 2019, most recently as executive vice president for global acceleration and community.
Bill Kramer, director and president of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, will now be CEO of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He follows Dawn Hudson, who is departing after 11 years.
Vince Marigna will begin as national CEO of the Breakthrough Collaborative on July 18. He most recently served as executive director of Braven at Rutgers-Newark.
Sasha Suda, director and CEO of the National Gallery of Canada, will now serve as director and CEO of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
World Resources Institute
The conservation group has named four new managing directors.
Craig Hanson has been promoted to managing director and executive vice president for programs. Most recently, he was vice president of food, forests, water, and the ocean.
Adriana Lobo was promoted to managing director for global presence and national action. She has led the institute’s Mexico and Colombia offices for almost 20 years.
Wanjira Mathai, vice president of WRI Africa, will now serve as managing director of Africa and global partnerships.
Janet Ranganathan has been named managing director of strategy, learning, and results. She has worked at the institute for 28 years, most recently as vice president for research, data, and innovation.
Other Notable Appointments
Vivian Borja, vice president of marketing at the Otte Polo Group, has been appointed executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Food for the Poor.
Hilda Dalfonso, vice president of finance of SCL Health Good Samaritan Medical Center, has been appointed chief financial officer at Corpus Christi Medical Center. She replaces Chris Nicosia, who has retired.
Bill Garza, former vice president of finance at Peak Performers Austin, has been named chief financial officer at the North Texas Food Bank. In addition, Maurice Wilson II has joined the food bank as its chief operating officer. Previously he was site director at Wayfair.
David Hinson has been hired as managing director and head of the Schultz Family Foundation’s Entrepreneurs Equity Fund, which will invest $100 million in small businesses within historically marginalized communities that will serve as vehicles for job creation, wealth building, and a more inclusive economy. Most recently he was senior vice president in the private-wealth-services division at Ategra Capital Management.
Annie Papero, head of lower school and preschool at the Sayre School in Lexington, Ky., has been named director of CHS Hershey, an early-childhood resource center that will provide free services for families in need through the Catherine Hershey Schools for Early Learning.
D. Deone Powell, general counsel and chief legal officer for Philadelphia Fight, has been appointed general counsel and chief legal officer at Vanguard Charitable.
Emily Prince, program and administrative officer at the Peter and Carmen Lucia Buck Foundation, has joined the F.M. Kirby Foundation as a program officer.
Randy Redner, CEO of the Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia, has been named chief strategy and philanthropy officer at Rainbow Village, a homelessness-prevention charity in Duluth, Ga.
Jennifer Snyder will join the Detroit Institute of Arts on August 15 as its chief digital officer. She currently serves as the director of digital experience at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Alanna Sobel, director of media engagement and public relations at the National Park Foundation, has been tapped as director of diversity, equity, and inclusion communications at the National Geographic Society.
Kezia Stegemoeller, senior director of donor engagement at the Dallas Foundation, has been appointed chief partnerships officer at the T.D. Jakes Foundation.
Katie Turcotte is joining the University of Mary Washington as vice president of advancement. Previously she was vice president of philanthropic analytics at the consulting firm GG+A.
Departures
Ellen Futter, president of the American Museum of Natural History since 1993, plans to step down next March when the museum opens its Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation.
Rob Goldrich, president and chief financial officer at the Leon Levy Foundation since 2015, will depart the $457 million foundation in July.
