Charity’s Book Dramatizes Life of Portland’s Homeless People

A Portland, Ore., social-services charity has published a book based on an exhibition it mounted of photographs taken by the city’s homeless people of the places where they sleep, The Oregonian reports.

Transition Projects issued Where I Slept: Being Homeless in Portland this fall, two years after it distributed disposable cameras to shelter residents. The resulting images of doorways, tents under bridges, rail yards, and other locales formed the basis of an exhibition shown at a Transition Projects housing complex and several city offices.
