Foundations Increasingly Focus Investments on Advancing Their Missions

Minnesota grant makers are increasingly turning to “mission-related investing” to expand their portfolios while furthering their charitable goals, reports MinnPost.

The approach encourages grant makers to focus on how their investments are moving their missions forward.

“There has been an appetite — and it has been a groundswell in the last few years — to grow the tool in the tool kit of foundations to work in communities,” Bill King, president of the Minnesota Council on Foundations said. “One of them is mission-related investment.”
