January 23, 2009

Officials at the Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, announced last night that the institution had raised $3.7-billion in a fund-raising campaign that stretched more than eight years, reports The Washington Post.

The amount represents the second-largest total ever raised in a university fund-raising campaign in the United States. Only Stanford University has exceeded Hopkins’s total, with more than $3.8-billion raised as of August.
