Los Angeles Children’s Museum Gets $10-Million Gift

The Children’s Museum of Los Angeles plans to announce a $10-million gift from an anonymous donor, reports the Los Angeles Times.

The money will pay for exhibits and operational costs for the museum’s new facility, which is being built in the city’s Lake View Terrace area, museum and city officials told the newspaper.

The donation comes after the Los Angeles controller released the results of an audit of the museum in August concluding that no more government aid should go to the institution until officials there could prove they had a feasible financial plan.

Including the new $10-million donation, museum officials told the newspaper they had raised about $45.6-million in government and private aid for the new facility.
