MBA Schools Increase Social-Entrepreneurship Offerings
October 15, 2009
The growing popularity of social entrepreneurship is prompting business schools to increase their offerings for students interested in building for-profit companies that serve socially responsible ends, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Oxford, Cornell, and Dartmouth are among the universities seeing greater demand for instruction in social entrepreneurship among MBA students. Along with concerns about the shrinking market for traditional business jobs, “there’s also a sort of underlying sense of guilt about what happened during the crisis,” said Colin Mayer, dean of Oxford’s Saiid Business School.
