April 10, 2008

Eight-time Grammy winner Herb Alpert gave $15-million to the School of Music at the California Institute of the Arts, which will be renamed in his honor, reports the Los Angeles Times. The gift will endow three faculty chairs and provide money for student scholarships, as well as new and existing programs.
