N.C. Agency Issues Warning on State Grant Oversight

A North Carolina legislative watchdog office issued a warning November 9 that the state is failing to adequately track the hundreds of millions of dollars it doles out annually to nonprofit groups, says the Associated Press.
The General Assembly’s Program Evaluation Division said there is no uniform process across state agencies for evaluating whether grants to nonprofit groups, which totaled $694-million in 2007-8, are achieving the expected results.
