Obituary: James W. Armsey, Former Ford Foundation Executive

James W. Armsey, a former Ford Foundation executive who prompted the foundation to deny grants to segregated universities and who directed more than $350-million in higher-education grants in the 1960s, died on November 2 at his home in Urbana, Ill. He was 90 years old, reports The New York Times.
