Penn Announces $3.5-Billion Campaign

October 22, 2007 | Read Time: 1 minute

The University of Pennsylvania on Saturday officially announced a $3.5-billion capital campaign, reports The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Penn has already raised 43 percent of that amount in the silent portion of the campaign. The drive, which is scheduled to run through 2012, is $2-billion larger than the most ambitious campaign Penn had previously run, which raised $1.5-billion and ended in 1994. Stanford University is currently running the most ambitious capital campaign in higher-education history, a $4.3-billion effort.
