Private High Schools Explore New Ways to Craft Appeals

Private high schools are growing more sophisticated and creative as they seek gifts for their annual funds, reports The Los Angeles Times.
Those efforts reflect the need of many schools to increase their operating budgets to cover expenses such as programs, equipment, salaries, and financial aid that cannot be fully covered through tuition charges, the newspaper said.
While many schools now host events such as annual gala dinners and auctions, many say that putting time and energy into printed materials leads to the biggest payoff.
Fund raisers say that improvements in the graphics and content of appeals helps people connect with the message and mission of the school and makes them more willing to give.
