Scotland’s Richest Man Wants to Give Away $2-Billion

A Scottish billionaire says he plans to donate at least $2-billion to charity, reports the BBC.
Sir Thomas Hunter, the founder and former owner of Sports Division, a sporting-goods chain, is worth about $2.15-billion.
“There is more great wealth in fewer hands than ever before in history,” he told the BBC, adding that philanthropy motivated him in business. “My own personal belief is that with great wealth comes great responsibility. We’ve got all the material, goals have all been settled some time ago. So now the philanthropy is the real motivator to continue to make money.”
Sir Hunter has previously donated over $200-million to his foundation.
He has promised to spend $100-million over 10 years to help “the poorest of the poor out of poverty” in Africa, The Chronicle of Philanthropy reports.
