Small College Receives $60-Million Gift

Gordon College, a Christian liberal-arts institution in Wenham, Mass., has announced that it has received a pledge of $60-million from a California real-estate developer and his wife, the Associated Press
reported.

Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler pledged that when they die, they will leave the money to the institution. The pledge is almost twice as much as Gordon’s endowment of $33-million.

Two of the Fowlers’ grandchildren attend Gordon College, the news service said.
