Two Major Volunteerism Groups to Merge

July 17, 2007

The Points of Light Foundation and Volunteer Center National Network in Washington will merge with the Hands On Network in Atlanta, reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Points of Light helped place 2.75 million volunteers in 2006, while Hands On helped place 600,000. The new yet-unnamed organization will maintain offices in Atlanta and Washington.

Michelle Nunn, co-founder of Hands On, will be chief executive officer of the new organization. She said the two groups hope to complete the merger by August 1.
