U. of North Carolina Endows Nonprofit Professorship
November 6, 2008
The University of North Carolina at Wilmington has created an endowed professorship in nonprofit management, thanks in part to a $667,000 gift from the Dan Cameron Family Foundation, according to a university announcement.
The gift will be matched by a gift of $250,000 from the C.D. Spangler Foundation, along with $333,000 in matching funds from the state Distinguished Professors Endowment Trust Fund. The Betty and Dan Cameron Family Distinguished Professorship of Innovation in the Nonprofit Sector, which will be housed in the Department of Public and International Affairs, will assist in strengthening local nonprofit organizations.
