Undercover Videos Lead to Firings at Acorn

The community organizing group Acorn Housing fired two employees in its Washington office on Friday following the release of a hidden-camera video showing them seemingly advising a couple on how to buy a house for use as a brothel, The Washington Post reports.
The move came a day after the nonprofit organization’s Baltimore office fired two workers over a similar video. Both were shot by James O’Keefe, a conservative activist who specializes in producing undercover videos.
An Acorn spokeswoman said the group’s policy “is not to encourage or facilitate illegal activity” and that it has begun an investigation of its training practices.
Plus: Fox News reports that the Census Bureau has severed ties with Acorn over the videos. The federal agency had hired Acorn to assist with the 2010 population count.
