University Reveals Name of Anonymous Donor

Indiana University officials have revealed the name of the philanthropist who gave an anonymous $70-million gift to the university two years ago, the Associated Press reports.
The donation was given by Gene Cox, who had contributed an additional $15-million on the same day he made the anonymous gift in December 2005. Mr. Cox owned a window-treatments company.
University officials did not tell the wire service why they were disclosing the name of Mr. Cox, who is 90 and an alumnus of the Bloomington, Ind., university.
The two donations, which total $85-million, are earmarked for scholarships.
