Update: Entertainment Fund Defends Nursing-Home Closure

Leaders of the Motion Picture & Television Fund, which provides services to elderly entertainment-industry veterans, say the organization risked going broke if it continued operating a Los Angeles acute-care hospital and care facility, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
About 100 residents will be displaced by the closure, which has sparked protests from patients’ families and the facility’s staff.
