Washington State U. Starts Rural ‘Retail-Philanthropy’ Project
August 13, 2009
The Seattle Times reports on a Washington State University online-giving effort aimed at linking donors to the college’s work on sustainable agriculture in the developing world.
“Ripple Effect,” operated by the university’s foundation, lets givers provide direct support to rural communities where the school is active by buying specific items, such as trees, pumps, or seed kits for rural areas at the project Web site.
