The use of satellite and Internet technology will allow citizens across the country to participate in next month’s White House Conference on Philanthropy.
On October 22, the White House Conference on Philanthropy: Gifts to the Future will discuss the American tradition of giving and ways to pass that tradition on to future generations (The Chronicle, July 15). Ninety minutes of the four-hour conference will be broadcast via satellite and the Internet.
A list of locations that will be hosting satellite transmissions of the conference will soon be available on the conference’s Web site. Organizations can also use the Web site to sign up to sponsor a transmission site, and to find advice on moderating a discussion on the future of philanthropy after the conference.
