AchieveMpls (Minneapolis): Appointed Susan Doherty, director of its Career and College Initiative, to be interim president and chief executive officer. Ms. Doherty succeeds Catherine Jordan, who has resigned to join the Leadership and Community Engagement Team at the Bush Foundation (St. Paul).

Arizona Humane Society (Phoenix): Appointed Kelsea Vescova, director of community relations and operations for the Marley Park community at DMB Associates (Scottsdale, Ariz.), to be director of marketing and development.

Avance (San Antonio): Appointed Rick Noriega, vice president for community-based initiatives at Neighborhood Centers (Houston), to be president and chief executive officer. Avance helps low-income Hispanic parents prepare their young children for school.

Bennett College (Greensboro, N.C.): Appointed W. Anthony Neal, area development director at the United Negro College Fund (Fairfax, Va.), to be vice president of institutional advancement.

Bridges of Understanding (Washington): Appointed Carey Kluttz, a recent recipient of a master’s degree in Middle East and Islamic studies from the American U. of Paris, to be executive director. This organization works to foster understanding between Americans and Arabs.

Millionair Club Charity (Seattle): Appointed James Miller, a management consultant for nonprofit organizations, based in Seattle, to be executive director. This organization helps homeless people become self-sufficient.

Museum of American Finance (New York): Appointed David Cowen, a financial-history writer and founder of Quasar Capital Partners (Roseland, N.J.), to be president and chief executive officer.

Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (Philadelphia): Appointed David R. Brigham, director of its museum, to be president and chief executive officer, effective January 1. Mr. Brigham succeeds Edward T. Lewis, who plans to resign.

United Friends of the Children (Los Angeles): Announced the death of Nancy M. Daly, founder of this organization that helps foster youths become self-sufficient, on October 2. She was 68. Ms. Daly was also founder of the Children’s Action Network.

Ursinus College (Collegeville, Pa.): Appointed Jill A. Marsteller, senior vice president and chief development officer at the Fox Chase Cancer Center (Philadelphia), to be senior vice president for advancement.
