Amazon to Share Office Space With Homeless Shelter: Seattle charity Mary’s Place will occupy roughly half of a six-story structure the tech giant is building as part of a new downtown campus, The New York Times writes. The shelter, slated to open in 2020, will be a permanent successor to the temporary facility the nonprofit has been running in a former motel on the property.

Illinois Appeals Court Orders College Foundation to Turn Over Records: Appellate judges upheld a lower-court order that the College of DuPage Foundation turn over documents sought by the Chicago Tribune under a Freedom of Information Act request, the newspaper reports. The public campus’s nonprofit fundraising arm argued that it was a private organization not subject to state sunshine laws.

Bloomberg and Barr Foundation Among Boston “Game Changers”: Michael Bloomberg’s giving in his native Boston region and Barr’s work to mitigate the impact of development on the city’s waterfront are featured in The Boston Globe Magazine’s annual report on people, organizations, and businesses making a big local impact.

The package also includes articles on the Boston Foundation’s Pledge 1% Boston campaign to get area tech start-up to commit a share of IPO proceeds to charity and on ActBlue, a nonprofit fundraising platform based in Somerville, Mass., that helps liberal candidates and organizations amass small-dollar donations.

White-Nationalist Groups’ Status Fuels Tax-Code Debate: A new paper by a University of Nevada at Las Vegas law professor argues for amending provisions of Internal Revenue Service rules under which organizations linked to white nationalism qualify as “educational” charities and collect tax-deductible donations, writes The Washington Post.
