Grants Roundup: $3.4 Million From Charles Koch Foundation to Texas A&M U.

Here are notable new grant awards compiled by The Chronicle:
Reid Hoffman, Omidyar Network, and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation
$4 million from LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, another $4 million from the Omidyar Network, and $600,000 from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation to DoSomething.org for a variety of advocacy efforts in criminal justice reform, climate change, Islamophobia, and civic engagement.
Charles Koch Foundation
$3.4 million to support the Private Enterprise Research Center at Texas A&M University.
Fund II Foundation
$2 million to the Ron Brown Scholars Program to expand its Guided Pathway Support Program, a free program that helps African-American high-school students gain admission to top universities, with the goal of narrowing the college access gap. The foundation is operated by the financier Robert Smith, who founded Vista Equity Partners.
Stover Foundation
$2 million to Waynesburg University to endow a professorship in the department of business administration.
Fred A. and Barbara M. Erb Family Foundation
$1 million to the Motown Museum for expansion and to support education and other museum programs. The Erbs were real-estate investors and owned a lumber company. They both died in 2013.
Kaiser Permanente
$1 million to International Medical Corps to support first responders’ efforts in Mexico following multiple earthquakes there in recent weeks.
