The Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers, in Washington, announced a new Web site that features articles and other information on emerging trends in giving.
As part of the New Ventures in Philanthropy Initiative, the site — Donors of the Future Online Knowledge Center — presents a collection of free papers and studies about how to identify and recruit new donors.
It includes previously published papers, articles, and links to other Web sites about giving patterns and philanthropy, such as how to appeal to donors who live in rural areas or donors who are religious.
In planning the site, the association, along with the Community Foundation Leadership Team at the Council on Foundations, commissioned a report from the Millennium Communications Group, in Andover, Mass., on how women and minorities give, as well as new ways of giving, such as donor circles, in which donors pool their money and then make grant decisions collectively.
Daria Teutonico, director of the effort, says staff members culled hundreds of documents on donors and emerging trends in philanthropy for the project and listed the most comprehensive studies and articles on the Web site.
