$30-Million Donation for U. of Missouri Journalism Institute

The University of Missouri has received a $30.1-million endowment gift designed to secure the financial future of its journalism program, writes the Kansas City Star. The school will invest the donation from the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, drawing an annual income to support its Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute.

The late Mr. Reynolds earned a journalism degree at Missouri in 1927 and went on to found the Donrey Media Group of newspapers and radio and television stations. His foundation, launched in 1954, supports journalism education nationwide and has previously given $46-million to the program at Missouri.
