Aide at Prince Charles’s Homeopathy Charity Suspected of Fraud

A former aide in Prince Charles’s campaign to spread the use of homeopathy and herbal remedies was arrested by London police Monday on suspicion of fraud and money-laundering, says the Guardian.

The unnamed 49-year-old man, described as a former senior official at the Prince’s Foundation for Integrated Health, was taken into custody along with a 54-year-old woman following a police probe into about $460,000 that is missing from the charity’s books.

The charity has aroused controversy in recent months, with regulators examining complaints that Prince Charles has used the organization as a vehicle to promote his views on health care and that its staff members pursued a vendetta against an Exeter University medical professor who accused the foundation of promoting “quackery.”
