Alumni Couple Gives $20-Million to Columbia U. Med Center
March 25, 2013
Columbia University announced a $20-million pledge last week from Philip and Cheryl Milstein to support revitalization of a new medical-school building, campus newspaper the Columbia Spectator writes.
The gift will help pay for the new Medical and Graduate Education Building at the Columbia University Medical Center, construction of which began last August. Mr. and Ms. Milstein are both Columbia graduates and regular donors.
Slated to open in 2016, the new structure will be used for training students in the College of Physicians and Surgeons and by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences’ biomedical science departments.
