Alumnus Gives $66-Million to Ga. Medical College

A $66-million gift to the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, from the estate and private foundation of alumnus J. Harold Harrison, will endow a fund for scholarships and faculty, says The Augusta Chronicle.

Dr. Harrison, who died last June, was a longtime member and previous head of the Medical College of Georgia Foundation. College officials called it a “transformative gift.”

The donation follows Dr. Harrison’s $10-million contribution last year to help finance a building named for him.
