An Advocate’s Quest to Bring New Life to Slaves’ Homes

Joseph McGill, a program officer at the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Charleston, S.C., office, has been sleeping in former slave cabins as part of an effort to raise awareness about their historical importance.
