Anne Frank Center to Move Near Ground Zero

A nonprofit group honoring Anne Frank, the Jewish teenager whose diary shed light on the horrors of the Holocaust, will relocate its headquarters near Ground Zero in time for the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, reports The Wall Street Journal.

The Anne Frank Center, which offers educational programs about the Nazi campaign to kill Jews and others, will relocate to 2,500 square feet of space on Church Street. Deborah Chapin, the center’s co-chairwoman, says the organization’s leaders believe it’s a fitting site for an organization that promotes tolerance and human rights.

Ms. Frank’s best-selling diary, which detailed her family’s efforts to hide from the Nazis in Amsterdam, died in a concentration camp in 1945.
