The Baltimore Shakespeare Festival has closed, the result of insurmountable financial struggles, reports The Baltimore Sun. Although the theater group received a $1-million donation in 2007 meant to establish an endowment, officials there said they ended up having to use the money to pay off debt and finance the next season.
