Bankrupt New York Dance Troupe Puts Season on Hold

New York’s Dance New Amsterdam, which filed for bankruptcy earlier this year amid longstanding financial woes and a possible eviction from its Lower Manhattan home, announced Monday that it will vacate the property next month and is putting off its 2013-14 season, The New York Times reports.
The dance education and performance organization reached an agreement last week with its landlord, Fram Realty, that will allow it to remain at 280 Broadway through Oct. 15. The 28-year-old arts group filed for Chapter 11 protection from creditors in May after several years of fundraising and cash-flow problems and threats of eviction.
