Bin Laden’s Death Spurs Action at Planned 9/11 Museum

With the September 11 Memorial Museum set to open in four months, organizers are scrambling to incorporate Osama bin Laden’s death into nearly completed designs for the ground-zero exhibition, says The Wall Street Journal.

The memorial portion of the $700-million facility will open in September and the museum a year later. The museum director, Alice Greenwald, said the timeline to alter exhibits to reflect the Al Qaeda leader’s death late Sunday night is “pretty immediate” but vowed the subject will be covered in the historical exhibits.

Project officials said the outpouring of emotion that erupted with the news of Bin Laden’s death has not prompted a new stream of donations for the museum, which is about $40-million short of its fund-raising goal for this year.
