Bloomberg Daughter Discusses Antipoverty Work, Family Ties in Interview
June 23, 2010
Emma Bloomberg talks about her role with the Robin Hood Foundation and her working relationship with her father, the New York mayor and billionaire philanthropist Michael Bloomberg, in an interview with Forbes.
Ms. Bloomberg, 31, who formerly worked in her father’s administration, serves as senior planning officer for Robin Hood, which has partnerships with New York nonprofits on antipoverty efforts. She said that while there are “clear advantages” to her name, she has had to prove herself to co-workers in both government and charity who “assume I only got where I am because of my father.”
