Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston lost $49-million on its investments in fiscal 2009, contributing to a 65-percent drop in its total support and revenue, reports the Boston Business Journal.
The umbrella organization, which ranked at No. 197 on The Chronicle of Philanthropy’s most recent annual ranking of the 400 largest charities in America by private support, reported donations and revenue of $41.1-million for the fiscal year ending June 30, compared to $117.1-million in fiscal 2008.
