July 1, 2011 | Read Time: 1 minute

Charity will be a key part of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge’s first trip to America as husband and wife, says USA Today.

The royal couple is to arrive in Los Angeles on July 8 after a week in Canada. The following day the prince will play on a $4,000-a-ticket charity polo match in Santa Barbara that is expected to raise more than $4-million for his and his brother’s charity, the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry.

The royal couple is also scheduled to visit an inner-city children’s arts charity and take part in two service events for military veterans and their families on July 10 before returning to Britain.
