Clinton Foundation’s Travel Bill Since 2003 Tops $50-Million

The global philanthropy founded by former President Bill Clinton has spent more than $50-million on travel expenses from 2003 to 2011, the New York Post writes, citing an analysis of the organization’s tax forms.
An internal audit by accountants for what is now called the Bill, Hillary, & Chelsea Clinton Foundation showed $12.1-million in travel in 2011 alone, including $72-million by the foundation’s Clinton Health Action Initiative.
The foundation runs a variety of international programs aimed at improving health and alleviating poverty in the developing world and fighting climate change. The tax filings do not break down how the money was spent, but data provided by the foundation show trips by Mr. Clinton accounted for 13 percent of 2010 travel spending and 10 percent in 2011.
