Clintons in Fundraising Mode to Build Foundation’s Endowment

Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton have launched a political campaign-style fundraising drive to build an endowment of $200-million to $250-million for their philanthropic foundation, writes The Washington Post.

The family has scheduled a series of meet-and-greet events this fall, including a weekend of concerts in London and a gathering of young philanthropists in San Francisco, and is reaching out individually to select donors able to give in the $5-million to $10-million range.

Bruce Lindsey, chairman of the Bill, Hillary, & Chelsea Clinton Foundation, said the drive is aimed at ensuring the organization remains financially viable after Bill Clinton’s death. Unnamed Clinton allies told the Post the effort also provides an unofficial way for supporters to align themselves with Hillary Clinton ahead of her possible 2016 presidential run.
