Dallas Orchestra Pact Links Pay Hikes With Fundraising Success

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra and its musicians have agreed on a new two-year contract that guarantees the players small salary increases but sweetens wages if the organization hits fundraising targets, reports the Dallas Morning News.

Musicians’ base pay will rise 1 percent this year and 2 percent next year under the deal, which runs through August 31, 2015. If the symphony meets goals for donor pledges and major lead gifts, players will get an additional 2 percent bump in 2015, retroactive to the start of the 2014-15 season.

Dallas musicians got a 1 percent pay hike in the 2012-13 season after six years without raises.
