Departing Brandeis U. President to Join Cleveland Jewish Philanthropy

When Jehuda Reinharz steps down as president of Brandeis University, he will take a leading position at Cleveland’s Mandel Foundation, says the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. Mr. Reinharz plans to leave the university in 2011.

Mr. Reinharz, who announced his resignation from Brandeis last September, will become the Jewish philanthropy’s first president and will eventually replace Morton L. Mandel, who is now the chief executive.

The Mandel Foundation has been a major benefactor of Brandeis, which will open the new Mandel Center for the Humanities this fall.
