Drug Executive to Lead Gates Foundation Global-Health Effort

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has appointed Trevor Mundel of the Novartis pharmaceutical company to serve as president of its global-health program, overseeing efforts to develop and deliver vaccines and other tools for combating disease, according to The Seattle Times.
Dr. Mundel, head of global development at the Swiss drug company, will take office December 1. He replaces Tadataka Yamada, who stepped down in June after five years at the foundation.
