Ex-Coach’s Charity Asks Donors to Give to Abuse Group

The nonprofit group embroiled in former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky’s child-abuse case is urging its donors to contribute to a group fighting sexual violence, says Reuters.
In an e-mailed statement Monday, the Second Mile asked donors to “join us in this commitment to sexual abuse survivors by sending your donations” to the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, which supports abuse victims.
State authorities are investigating what officials at the youth charity knew about alleged molestation of boys by Mr. Sandusky, who founded the organization in 1977. The former Penn State defensive coordinator has been charged with abusing eight minors he met through his work with the Second Mile.
