Larri Sue Jones, the daughter of Feed the Children founder, Larry Jones, and a former vice president of the embattled hunger charity, has sued the organization over her dismissal last month, The Oklahoman writes.
In a lawsuit filed August 20, Ms. Jones claims she was fired on July 22 in retaliation for reporting to Oklahoma’s attorney general and outside auditors that Feed the Children’s board had planned to transfer control of the Oklahoma City relief charity to the family of the retail billionaire Mart Green, who had previously helped bail out Oral Roberts University.
Feed the Children officials and Mr. Green said they engaged in preliminary talks about joining forces but were not actively pursuing a relationship.
Ms. Jones had earlier sided with the board in its battle against her father, who was ousted from the organization last year and has also filed a wrongful-termination suit.
