Google’s executive chairman, Eric Schmidt, is investing millions in Civis Analytics, a consulting firm for businesses and nonprofits staffed by members of President Obama’s former campaign data team, reports Bloomberg Businessweek.
Civis Analytics is led by 30-year-old Dan Wagner, who is credited with helping secure Obama win’s in the 2012 election. The plan is now to transfer his expertise to companies and nonprofits.
The company is currently working for the College Board, which administers the SAT, to design a campaign that encourages more high-achieving, low-income students to apply to elite schools. In addition, it’s helping several companies and nonprofits enroll millions of people newly eligible for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
